“Sanctification” means to be set apart, the process of being freed from sin and made holy. From the beginning God set apart Abraham to be a father of nations, he then set apart Noah, Jacob and the whole nation of Israel. Even in the Genesis account God set the human race apart. Every other thing was made by speaking it into existence but with us He made us out of dust and personally breathed air into our lungs, making us in His image. The dust of the earth has the same elements found in the human body. You were made for a purpose and if you find yourself in a season of “loneliness” it might actually be sanctification in disguise.
“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.” John 17:16-19
